About The Autopano Archive
We are a community of panoramic photographers, architects, and virtual tour creators dedicated to preserving the legacy of the world’s best stitching software.
The Story of Kolor & Autopano
For over a decade, Autopano Giga (developed by the French company Kolor) was the undisputed king of panoramic imaging. It introduced revolutionary features like automatic ghost removal, S-shaped horizon correction, and the legendary Neutralhazer® filter.
However, on September 14, 2018, Kolor—which had been acquired by GoPro—officially closed its doors. The development ceased, the licensing servers were shut down, and the official download links vanished from the web. A tool relied upon by thousands of professionals was suddenly declared “dead.”
Why We Keep It Alive
Many users ask: “Why not just switch to modern software?”
While newer tools like PTGui are faster, and cameras like Insta360 offer convenience, Autopano Giga still holds a unique place in the workflow. Its visual control point editor, forgiving stitching algorithm, and color harmonization engine produce results that, in specific scenarios, are still superior to modern alternatives.
This website was created to ensure that:
- Preservation: The final stable installation files (v4.4.2) are archived and kept available for download.
- Access: New and old users can find the official “Free License” credentials released by the developers before the shutdown.
- Compatibility: We provide technical guides to help run this legacy software on modern operating systems like Windows 11 and macOS Silicon (M1/M2/M3).
Our Promise on Safety
We understand the risks of downloading software from unofficial sources. That is why we adhere to a strict “No Crack / No Malware” policy.
The files hosted here are the original binary installers released by Kolor in 2018. We do not modify them. We do not host “keygens” or “patches” that trigger antivirus warnings. We verify the integrity of our files using MD5 hashing to ensure they match the original developer’s release.
Contact & Support
While we cannot provide software development support (as the code is closed source), we are happy to assist with installation issues or archive contributions.
